After work I was going down to the beach, when the dusk coincides with low tide, when the sand is flat and stretches out and the streetlight from the seafront road is orange on the dark blue water. Turned away from the road, looking out to sea, the purple and the absence of somethings human, it feels like a different planet.

Because of the sloping beach, down into the sea, the sea is rising up in front of me and the tide could rush in suddenly. I don't know if limbo is the right word but temporally and spatially things are changing around me: the day is ending and night is beginning, the light is fading. I'm standing on wet sand where the sea once was—and will be again. It felt like being between worlds.

That's when I think about climate change the most and the harm of it. And I think about what's happening to us: different peoples in different places, and all species, in different ways. And changes to the atmosphere and to the sea. I don't know if limbo is the right word but .... where are we? where are we going?

This music isn't about all of that but I sit there listening to these loops, thought about all this and it seemed okay that they go over and over. There's nothing to focus on in the dark.

(and then the music took on this damp wet squelch drip wave depth sinking aquatic something or other and when I was finishing the album that seemed to come to the surface even more)
